Seasonal Salad Mix

In spring and summer, our salad mix usually has baby lettuce and mild baby mustard greens (like the Japanese green "mizuna"). In the winter, it may have more colorful and flavorful baby mustards (like the ones you see here) or even a touch of arugula or Miner's lettuce.

Storage

Store in a plastic bag, in the refrigerator. Baby greens are best eaten within a few days, but will keep for up to a week. Note: we typically don’t wash the salad greens we pack for you unless they’re very dirty, because they store better unwashed. If you choose to wash your salad greens, invest in a salad spinner so you can be sure to get them truly dry. (A wet salad always disappoints.)

Cooking Tips

Our seasonal mix always makes a great salad, but can also be quickly sauteed with garlic or added into a bowl of ramen. The winter mix tends to be bolder and will want a more flavorful dressing. These greens also hold up well to being tossed into a grain salad, a lentil salad, or whatever you like to eat in a bowl with an egg on top.
